***Describe outcome of election as no Victor, no vanquished
Christian Clerics, under the aegis of Christian Leaders Conference of Nigeria ( CLCN) and Clerics Congress of Nigeria (CCN) of over 5000, have set agenda for the President – Elect , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu .
The Clerics at a press conference in Abuja Friday said the victory of Senator Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as President and Vice President – elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is one of no Victor, no vanquished .
The Clerics had prior to the Presidential and National Assembly election last Saturday, endorsed Tinubu and Shettima as their preferred Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates respectively.
Following Tinubu’s victory, the clerics at the press conference said it was a dream come true for them and many Nigerians who believe in his competence, capability, and vision.
Speaking on behalf of others , Bishop Timothy Cheren urged Tinubu to prioritize the selection of a competent and capable team that would help him translate his vision of a Renewed Hope for Nigerians into reality.
He also enjoined him to confront the nation’s economic challenges and insecurity frontally, as well as reach out to the aggrieved contestants who are already in court .
He also called on all clerics and those of the moslem faith to continue to pray for Tinubu and Shettima as they prepare to take over the administration of the country on May 29, 2023.
“Emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as President and Vice President – Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the Presidential election conducted last Saturday , is a dream come true for us , having through divine guidance , thrown our weight behind them .
“Our appeal to them now , is that they should be prepared to hit the ground running in the area of team to work with , tackling of the problem of insecurity and revamping the Nation’s economy as well as reaching out to the aggrieved ones in the society “, he said .
In his own remarks at the press conference, the coordinator of the group, Pastor Peter Abraham, said the Tinubu / Shettima Presidency should come up with formidable economic team whose policies should help in tackling the rising problem of unemployment in the country .
“We are not out for over agenda setting for an administration that is yet to be formed but happy that people with the required vision and competence , are coming on board .
“For Nigerians, our appeal to them, is that what should be prominent in our hearts now, should be Nigeria and not religion or any other sentiments”, he said .
