***Police confirms the arrest of five suspects

The JIgawa state police command has confirmed the killing of one person during a clash between the members of ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP) in Maigatari local government area of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued in Dutse and made available to the Nationalupdate by the Ji)gawa Police command Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) DSP Lawal Shi’isu Adam.

According to the statement “on Friday 10th February, 2023 at about 18:20 hours while the PDP gubernatorial candidate was at Maigatari for a political campaign however, while they approached the APC secretariat supporters of the two political parties clashed with one Abdullahi Isyaku age 35 of Gangare quarters in Maigatari town becoming the victim.

The police spokesperson explained further that “The victim was rushed to Gumel general hospital where he later died while recieving treatment”.
He confirmed the arrest of five suspects adding that investigation is ongoing at the state criminal investigation department at the command headquarters”.
