    By Friday Idachaba, Lokoja.

KOGI state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chided Sahara Reporters over its publication on alleged anti-party activities against leadership of the party in the state.

Chief Sam Abenemi, Director General of Adamu Mahmoud Atta Support Group for Atiku/Okowa, who disclosed this at a press conference on Sunday in Lokoja, described the publication as handiwork of mudslingers.

Abenemi declared that no amount of Media campaign of calumny against the party would distract it from mission to rescue the nation from its present predicament.

He condemned those desperately working to rubbish the good name and principles on which the party stands and tagged them as enemies if the people.

Abenemi who is also the Vice Chairman of Kogi chapter of the PDP refuted the publication by the Sahara Reporters in its January 22, edition with the caption: “Gov. Yahaya Bello lobbies PDP National Leaders, Vows to Deliver Kogi to Atiku.

He described the publication as “false, malicious and a figment of the imagination of the sponsors, insisting that Adamu Mahmoud Atta, the former senatorial aspirant was not working with Governor Bello.

Abenemi noted that nobody had the omnipotent powers to make the party win the General Elections adding that though the Party might not be desperate, it was passionately desirous to offer service that would “bring the people of this country out darkness, deprivation and poverty.”

He affirmed that PDP leadership or membership would not involve itself in any form of anti-party activities “at this critical moment of the party’s history.”

He said that both members and supporters had subsumed their ambitions into the over all interest of the Party.

Abenemi added that it was unfortunate that the enemies had to concoct a story to link the hardworking member of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mahmoud Atta to Gov. Yahaya Bello in the said publication.

He explained that the story averred that Governor Bello had been in talks with the leadership of PDP to ensure that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan lose her case in the court to enable Adamu Mahmoud Atta to replace her.

“The publication, in its mischievous content did not know that the said law suit has since been withdrawn at the instance of the party.

“The hatchet job must be condemned in its entirety and be viewed as the handiwork of those who do not wish PDP in Kogi State well but are only interested in their parochial , ambitions and penchant to grab power at all costs”, he said. (
