NCP adopts LP’s Peter Obi as its presidential candidate
The National Conscience party (NCP), has declared that it is adopting the labour party’s presidential flag bearer Peter Obi and his Vice, Senator Datti Baba Ahmed for the forth coming February 25th Presidential election.
Though the party is still slugging it out with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over deregisteration, the NCP through a statement by it’s National Chairman, Tanko Yunusa and National Secretary VC Odemejemba said it will mobilize it’s members and supporters nationwide for the labour party candidate because it shares Peter Obi’s philosophy and manifesto.
The NCP National Chairman who also stepped down to concentrate on his current position as a spokesman of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council said the party reviewed deeply the 7 Point Agenda of Peter Obi and Datti Baba Ahmad and concluded that it is good enough to transform Nigeria.
According to NCP; “As captured in the 72 pages manifesto tagged it is possible our pact with Nigerians. This is in consonant with the slogan of the NCP of abolition of poverty and 10 care programs.
“Our focus is to ensure that wealth is created through sectors that improve the wellbeing of all Nigerians. Our theory of change is DEMOCRATIC CITIZENSHIP.”
It said the adoption of Peter Obi has been officially communicated to the party despite the fact that it had been working with the Labour Party under the big tent arrangement.
