Some fake appointment letters being circulated in the name of the Federal Capital Territory-Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) are with the intention to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians, as the service has dissociated itself from the purported appointments
A statement issued in Abuja by the service Head, Corporate Communications, Mustapha Sumaila said FCT-IRS is not recruiting presently.
It cautioned the general public to be careful not to fall victim to the scammers and unscrupulous elements.

“FCT-IRS does not sell employment and whoever demands for money for job in the name of the Service, is a fraudster, therefore, you are advised to report such person or group to appropriate authorities.

“Whoever patronises such fraudsters does that at his or her own peril.

The statement indicated that, the Service has put necessary measures in place to check and ensure those perpetuating the nefarious activities are brought to justice.
“The general public is hereby urged to always visit the Service’s website, www.fctirs.gov.ng or info@fctirs.gov.ng for any information.”
