Gov Badaru reaffirms commitment to workers welfare, as AUPCTRE elects new executives

The Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the civil servants in the state.
The governor gave the indication in a speech he delivered at the opening ceremony of the state’s delegate conference of the Amalgamation Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Re-creational services Employees (AUPCTRE) in Dutse.
The governor who was represented by the special assistant to the governor on labor matters, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmed Kwaimawa said the state is paying workers salary as at when due, since the inception of this administration.
“We pay pensioners first week of every month while the active workers receive their salary on 25th of every month”.
The governor said there is mutual understanding between the state government and Labour Unions in the state.
He promised to give more support and cooperation to all trade unions in the state to enable them achieve their objectives for the development and effective civil service.
In his message the president of the Union, Comrade Benjamin Antony represented by his deputy, Comrade Tasi’u Lawan said the Union will solicit for the support of other trade Unions to move it forward.
The association elected its new executive members to run its affairs for four years.
Those elected include, Shehu Ubale from water board as Chairman, Muhammad Uba from education vice chairman, Idris Musa Bulangu RUWASA Treasure, Aliyu Musa Economic and Empowerment financial secretary, while Usaini Adamu from ministry of works and transport was elected Secretary.
Others are, Mukhtar Shehu Abdullahi ministry of water resources welfare secretary, Saminu Yusuf Rural Electricity Board Internal Auditor while Aliyu Muhammad Ibrahim, Magaji Yusuf and Nasiru Abdurrahman from sports council, Housing Authority, and NYSC will serve as ex-officio.
In his acceptance speech the new chairman of the Union, Comrade Shehu Ubale commended members of the Union for giving him their mandate to lead them.
