The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Kogi East in the forthcoming 2023 Elections, Victor Adoji has called on the party leadership and supporters to unite and focus on winning the contest.

Adoji who made the call in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja said that the first leg and one of the most important phases of the electoral calendar for the 2023 General Elections had been attained.

To continue the journey towards the secondary elections, he said there was need for key players and the people to move away from temperaments that greeted the outcome of the party primaries.

The former Head, Corporate Communications, Zenith Bank said, “We must shun mundane or temporal considerations, we must eschew pride on all sides, we must bond together to avoid zero forms of disposition.”

Adoji held that there was need for true and genuine forgiveness where necessary to evolve a ground for common convergence adding that it would be foolhardy for him to think he could do it alone.

“It is only a fool that will ever dream of doing it alone. I am not a fool and I will not be a fool because I know too well and reckon that I cannot do it alone without the support of others.

“I dare say that 2023 is more of decision taking that will not only affect our future but those of our children, grand children and survival of our ethnic nationality.

“Accordingly, I beckon on you to a progressive communion where every one is involved, valued and assured a role and a place in the drive to our redemption.

“We must reckon that great nationalities including our nationality, do not evolve by an individual movement.

“They essentially figure out what have been done, what should be done and take deliberate steps to either rebuild or build the future they seek.

“As it is often said, the next election is entirely in our hands. I respectfully urge us to continue the push towards changing our narratives as a viral ethnic nationality even before the 2023 polls”, he said.

Adoji who is also an Economist, Intrapreneurship Strategist and People-management consultant with Fuerte Business Solutions, Ikeja, used the opportunity to thank the party for the mandate bequeathed to him to fly the party’s flag.

He indicated that the responsibility bestowed on him would not be lost as he expressed unreserved gratitude to Sen. Isaac Alfa, Dr Obolo Okpanachi and Q.S. Abubakar Suleiman, his co-contenders who relinquished the fight to him.

“These highly respected and responsible gentlemen have shown that their particular interests are subservient to the larger interest and I am immeasurably grateful to them for such uncommon disposition”, he added.

Adoji sought forgiveness especially from his contenders and those he must have offended through his actions, inactions, spoken and unspoken words and even body language in the course of the intra-party engagements.
