    Kogi CSDA flags off N14.8m water, education projects in Gboloko Community

    Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) has flagged off the construction of a borehole for Gboloko Community in Bassa Local Government Area to assuage the perennial water scarcity in the community.

    The Agency also commenced its intervention in the completion and furnishings of a stalled examination Hall project for Gboloko Community Secondary School.

    Chief Momoh Dauda, General Manager of the Agency disclosed this at the inauguration of the community micro projects on Friday in Gboloko.

    He said the two projects worth over N14 million were part of the 45 Basic Service infrastructure interventions across communities in the 21 Local Government Areas of the state are being supported by Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES).

    The General Manager said the intervention was aimed at ameliorating hardships being faced by the community members in accessing clean and safe drinking water.
    He added that the examination hall will as well, create conducive learning environment for the students.

    He disclosed that the community was the first to benefit from the NG-CARES for the year as he urged the Community Project Management Committee (CPMC) and Sub-committee members to make judicious use of the project funds with proper book keeping.

    Dauda said that the flag-off was for the Agency and CPMC members representing the Community to sign commitment documents for commencement of work on the projects.

    He noted that documents for signing by both parties included Funding Approval, Projects Development Plan and Financing Agreement adding that they were to ensure that the projects were executed according to specifications and on schedule.

    Presenting the cheques for the first tranche of funds for the projects to the Committees, the General Manager disclosed that the borehole would gulp N6,822,480.

    The completion and furnishing of the Examination Hall for the school would take N7,996,028. totalling N14,808,503 for both projects expected to be completed in two months.

    Dauda however warned the handlers to avoid diverting the funds saying that the signed documents were legal bonds and covenant between the Community and the Agency.

    He applauded Governor Yahaya Bello for his support for the agency in meeting its obligations and commended his kind-heartedness and the desire to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.

    In his remarks, the Etsu BassaNge, HRH Brigadier Abuh Alih (rtd), commended the Agency for choosing the community as first to benefit from the N-CARES Basic Service infrastructure interventions in the state.

    The Royal Father who was represented by the Saba of BassaNge Kingdom, Yahaya Lerama, promised to ensure completion of the projects on schedule.
