As the 2023 general election draws closer, the agitation for the youth to take over the reigns of leadership has become the major issue at the front burner.
The fact remains that there is need to salvage Nigeria from the grip of genrotocrat politicians who do not want to yield the ground for the promising younger generation.

In Benue, it is not different as various groups have been drumming support for 38 year old Dr. Sadiq Ewaoda Amali who is gunning for the governorship position in the State under the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party (NNPP).
Though, Dr.Amali is young and ebullient he possessed a rich curriculum Vitae that has positioned him to deliver the goods if given the mandate
Again, having been brought up from a family of leadership that places high premium on education the Benue people would be the better for his tenure in education and other spheres.

His grand father, Mallam Aliyu Amali, was a peasant farmer in the village without education. Yet, all the Amalis were educated to the extent that among the people of Benue State, they are known as a family of professors and doctors of philosophy. Their wives are also professors, associate professors and Ph.D holders.

Sadiq Ewaoda Amali was born on the 18th of September 1984 into the family of Prof and Prof Mrs Idris Amali
He attended both western and Islamic education.
Amali attended University of Maiduguri staff primary school between 1990-1996, University of Maiduguri staff secondary between 2000-2003 and Federal Government College Maiduguri between 2000-2003.

Amali holds a B.Sc in Sociology & Anthropology from the University of Maiduguri in 2008, an M.Sc in Sociology from the University of Ilorin in 2013 after which he earned a PhD in Criminology from University of Fort Hare, South Africa in 2018.

He joined the services of the Department of Sociology, Federal University Dutse in 2013 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the ranks to his present status of Senior Lecturer in 2021.

Amali was once a lecturer at the Department of Criminology, University of Fort Hare, South Africa between 2016 & 2018.

He is currently an External Examiner to the Department of Criminology, Walter Sisulu University, South Africa and has awarded fifteen honours degrees in Criminology and five Masters degrees in Criminology in the same institution.

He was recently appointed as an external examiner by the University of Pretoria in South Africa for the award of doctorate degree in Criminology.

Amali has published over thirty one (31) articles in reputable local and international Journals and two chapters in a book.
He has attended several local and international conferences such as the European Society of Criminology conference hosted by the University of Ghent in Belgium among others.

Amali is a member of Criminological Society of Africa (CRIMSA) and also serves as an Editorial member for the journal floated by the society.

Amali’s Ph.D thesis earned him a national recognition as he was invited for a meeting by the Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and subsequently invited as a Discussant at the Ministerial Retreat for Para Military agencies held at Ilesha Osun state.

He is currently a resource person with the Federal Ministry of Interior and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Abuja.
Amali specializes in the area of Penology (Offender Rehabilitation).

Amali is a founder of Inmates Reformation and Rehabilitation Pathways (IRRP),a Non-Governmental Organization in Nigeria
Amali’s antecedents speaks volumes and such erudite scholar can comfortably lead Benue State to the promise land.
