Joint security forces eliminate 10 terrorists, rescue 14 kidnap victims in Niger

Joint security forces in Niger State have rescued 14 kidnapped victims after killing 10 terrorists at uregi community in Rafi local government area of Niger State
The security outfit successfully neutralised 10 of the terrorists who were about to attack Uregi community during an offensive operation on Wednesday in the community
TheNiger State Commissioner for local government and internal security Mr Emmanuel Umar made the disclosure in a statement issued on Thursday in Minna.
The statement indicated that 7 motorcycles and some arms and ammunitions were recovered from the armed men who were set to wreck havoc on the local community in Uregi.
The Commissioner further hinted that the joint forces and men of the tactical squad swiftly responded and mobilize to engaged the hoodlums around Uregi and Kinibo village which resulted the killing of 10 of the terrorists by the joint forces.
“10 of the terrorists who were at the verge of attacking the peaceful community were neautrilized by the gallant efforts of the joint taskforce and men of the tactical squad.
“Also 14 kidnapped victims in their captivity for some days were rescued”
According to the statement the bandits wanted to disrupt the peaceful Eid-fitr celebration in the area by launching dangerous attack on Kawo and Uregi villages” but men of the joint force swiftly repelled the attack”
“On the day of Eid-fitr festival, at about 5pm armed men believed to be terrorists in their large numbers on motorcycles attempted to attack Kawo and Uregi villages in Rafi local government area to disrupt the Sallah festival in the state.
“On the reciept of the information, the gallant men of the joint taskforce security repelled them, killing 10 of the terrorists on the spot while 14 persons under their captivity were rescued by the squad”
He commended the joint taskforce for their quick response in engaging the hoodlums and neautrilising them.
