2023: Bayelsa East Indigenes Urge Senator Degi to take another shot
The United Bayelsa East Senatorial District Forum and Stakeholders have called on Senator B. W. Degi-Eremienyo to re-contest for the senatorial seat.
The forum also passed a vote of confidence on him for effectively representing the district through people-oriented motions/ bills and evenly distributed developmental projects that directly impact positively on the constituents
In a-sixteen point communique signed by fourteen members including Engineer Numonoipre Wills, Dr Tonye Okio and High Chief(Rtd Major) Inikio Sele-Dede,
representating the three local government areas of Ogbia, Nembe and Brass, that make up the senatorial district said the decision for calling on Senator to re-contest is not against the zoning spirit but to ensure the senatorial district produces ranking member in the 10th senate to hold key positions and attract more developments by the Grace of Almighty God.
The communique noted that the arrangement replaces the previous single term zoning adding that after Degi’s second term, Ogbia takes over for her two terms and then Brass to ensure fairness.
This according to the communique is done with a clear conscience and devoid of partisan political undertones, believing that this is in the best interest of the Bayelsa East
Senatorial District.
