A group under the aegis of Northern Youth In Progress (NYIP) has asked the serving central bank governor, Godwin Emefiele to throw his hat in the ring to contest to be President of Nigeria

This was just as they expressed their complete support for power to shift to the southeast.

This was contained in a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Adamu Isah Bello on Sunday which was made available to news men in Dutse.

The National Coordinator said “Based on their analysis and criteria, the CBN Governor is the best choice for president come 2023.

The statement added that, “Emefiele is one of the best CBN Governors Nigeria has ever produced, he has vast experience in economic transformation, human development as well as various agricultural programmes for Nigerians”.

Comrade Bello explained further saying “Emefiele is a strong pillar in President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration. During Covid19 economic recession, the CBN Governor came out with money lending programmes aimed at cushioning the effect of the pandemic on Nigerians”.

He also indicated that various agricultural programmes introduced by the CBN Governor for Nigerian farmers such as the Anchor-Borrower, Cluster farming as well as other programmes related to dry season farming.

“The loans given to dry season Rice and Wheat farmers Associations had yielded a positive result. A greater percentage of these people have benefited immensely and today many of them are thankful to the CBN Governor”, he added.

He therefore urged Nigerians especially the Northern youths to respect the gentleman agreement on rotational presidency, which will foster unity and peaceful co-existance among Nigerians.
