    9 die in Jigawa fatal auto crash

    Not less than nine persons have lost their lives in a fatal accident which occurred near Birniwa town, the headquarters of Birniwa local government area of Jigawa state.

    The accident which involved Golf 3 and a Tricycle happened when the car driver lost control as a result of over speeding.

    The incident occurred along Nguru-Hadejia road in the late hours of Friday.

    Confirming the incident the spokesman of the Jigawa State command of the NIgerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Adamu Shehu said “there was an accident involving a Golf 3 car and Tricycle at Birniwa town, nine person died and one person injured”.

    The NSCDC explained that “The driver of the commercial car lost control and had a head on collision with the Tricycle from opposite side as a result of over overs peeding”.

    Adamu said that, the incident involved Golf 3 saloon with registration number CZ865RBC and tricycle with registration No. 827NGR.

    He said nine person died while one sustained injuries, seven are female and two other male were injured.

    According to him, the victims were rushed to Birniwa General Hospital for medical attention and all the nine person were confirmed dead.

    NSCDC spokesman said all the corpses were handed over to the their families and were buried in accordance with the teaching of Islam.
