Jigawa Hisba Commission Settles 4,231 Domestic, Communal Disputes In 2021

The Jigawa State Hisbah commission has intervened, reconciled and settled a total of 4, 231 families and other communal disputes in 2021.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen in Dutse the state capital by the state Hisbah Commandant Malam Ibrahim Dahiru
The commandant while reviewing the activities of the commission in 2021 stated that, during the period under review the commission reconciled 3,579 domestic cases that involved couples and 221 that involved parents and their children.
The Commandant also disclosed that, the commission managed and settled 71 cases that involved Farmers and Herders which consequently helped in averting bloody clashes in the affected areas.
According to the commandant “Other cases we handled in the year included 41 disagreements/debt between traders and 319 neighbours disputes”.
Malam Dahiru maintained that, reconciliation helps in conflict resolution and peace building among people.
However, he said it saves time and resources since it can replace unnecessary litigation in the courts.
He assured the general public that, the commission is always ready to entertain any complain and broker peace among the warring parties to ensure justice is done to everyone.
“The commission is there for every member of the society including Men, Women, Children, Muslims, Christians and Pagans.
“Our Cardinal objectives is to promote peace through social justice thereby discouraging social vices/ criminal activities in the society ” He declared.
