Jigawa Court slams life imprisonment on septuagenarian for raping 2 minors

The Jigawa High Court sitting in Kazaure has sentenced one Alto Ado aged 70 to life imprisonment after being found guilty of raping two minors in Kazaure town.
This was contained in a press statement made available to news men in Dutse the state capital by the public relations officer to the Jigawa ministry of justice, Mrs Zainab Baba Santali.
She said “The offence of rape is punishable under section 3 of the Penal Code (Miscellaneous Amendment) Law, 2014”.
According to the statement, the presiding judge, Justice, Hussaina Adamu Aliyu declared that the court having been convinced beyond all reasonable doubt that “On 4th Occtober 2020 the defendant who was also a watchman lured 2 minors aged 7 and 9 into an uncompleted building in Cikin Gari area of Kazaure town and forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with them one after the other”.
Santali indicated that “The defendant was later arrested and charge to court for the offence of Rape”.
She added that the prosecution in prove of the case called 5 witnesses including a medical report, the prosecutrix, investigation police officer and the victims’ fathers.
“Presiding Justice Hussaina Adamu Aliyu ruled that having been satisfied with the evidence presented by the prosecution, she found the defendant guilty of the offence of Rape and thereby Sentenced to life imprisonment”.
