Surveyors Forum decry lack of adherence to the ethics of the profession in northern region

The Northern Surveyors Forum has expressed concerned on the low adherence to the extant laws and regulations for surveyors as provided in the constitution of Nigeria and SURCON gazetted bulletin.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the 2021 annual general meeting of the forum held at manpower development Institute, Dutse the Jigawa state capital.

According to the communique, the association has resolved to join hands with governments and all other critical stakeholders to address the challenges while a befitting regional office will be opened in Kaduna state to coordinate the association’s activities.

During the meeting new executives were elected to pilot the affairs of the union for the next two years with Dr Isa Funtuwa Abdulkadir as its new chairman

Other executives elected during the meeting included, Kabiru Arugungun Deputy Chairman,, Surv Muhajjir Secretary, Mr Abduljabbar assistance secretary, Rashida Bashir Treasurer, Dr Shuaibu M. Ade Financial secretary, Ibrahim Gumu Auditor and Umar Hussaini PRO.

In his acceptance speech the new chairman of the forum promised to work hand in hand with other stakeholders to enhance the profession in the Northern Nigeria.

Dr Funtua also called on members to be more proactive in assisting the young professional graduates to register with the body for effective guidance in their practice of the profession.
