    Power Failure: House Comtte Chair on Power Kicks Against TCN Privatization

    The chairman House of committee on power, Engineer Magaji Da’u Aliyu has kicked against privatization of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), as the previous privatization did not yield the desired objectives.

    The chairman made the disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen in Birninkudu, Jigawa State shortly after he addressed crowd of supporters that recieved him on arrival to the country from abroad after completing his PhD in business administration in Scotland.
    Aliyu who is also the member representing Birninkudu/Buji federal constituency of Jigawa state indicated that he is against privatization for obvious reasons.

    “We privatized the distribution companies (DICOS) you see what happened, we had to take them back now”.

    According to him people are living witnesses, what is the impact of the previous privetazations especially to an ordinary Nigerian?”

    The law maker maintained that in that regard the national assembly will hold qq13qqwqwon public hearing on the 22nd of this month to hear from the stakeholders and questions to be asked

    Commenting on the power failure in the country, the law maker noted that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) inherited poor and delapidated infrastructural facilities which is behind the existing problems.

    “I’m not holding brief for Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), but the corporation inherited very poor operational facilities. Their (TCN) network was not be accessible until recently because of banditry”.

    Engineer Aliyu expressed confidence that the ruling APC will win the forthcoming general election in Jigawa state and in the country, “We are doing our best as well as our party the APC through the execution of viable developmental policies and programmes at all levels.
