Former acting governor of Kogi state, Rt. Hon Abdullahi Bello has described the fire incident that gutted the State House of Assembly on Monday as desecration of democracy
Bello who was also a former speaker of the State House of Assembly condemned the act as he called for immediate investigation.
He expressed dismay that the State House of Assembly came under such a strange accident or attack.

“This destruction if indeed intentional, is nothing but total affront on Democracy in our State. Any destruction or attack on legislative arm of government is an attack on the totality of the people of our State.
I therefore condemn wholeheartedly this heinous crime against the people of my State.
“This is savagely taken to it’s extreme level and must be investigated without delay. I hope that the police will pursue, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators
He urge the Government of Kogi to deploy all lawful measures to restore order throughout the entirety of the State!
“I stand firmly by the authority in my State in the pursuit of good governance, but we must resist the temptation to seek self-help as we strive to unravel all mysteries concerning our commonwealth and accountability in our State.”
