The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has directed that the stadium be closed to usage by club sides for any domestic competition.
This is aimed at keeping the main pitch of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in good enough shape for international matches of the national teams.
A statement issued by Director Press and Public Relations Mohammed Manga, indicatedd the Stadium will henceforth be used only for matches involving the national teams.
The statement said the directive takes immediate effect.
