Terror grips Oyo community after abducted teacher reportedly beheaded by terrorists

Fear and outrage have gripped residents of Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State following reports that one of the teachers abducted during the deadly invasion of schools in Ahoro-Esinele community has been brutally killed by his captors.
According to information circulating within the community and a disturbing video making rounds online, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, one of the teachers kidnapped during the coordinated attack on two schools, was reportedly beheaded while in captivity.
The development has thrown the affected communities into panic, with residents lamenting what they described as worsening insecurity and the growing vulnerability of schools in rural areas.
The victims were abducted on Friday when heavily armed assailants stormed Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, alongside Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School. Witnesses said the attackers invaded the communities on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and causing chaos before whisking away dozens of victims.
Community sources disclosed that no fewer than 46 persons were abducted during the operation, including seven teachers and 39 students and pupils.
Those earlier declared missing include the Principal of Community High School, Mrs. Alamu Folawe; Vice Principal, Mr. Ojo Jonathan; Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus; Mr. John Olaleye; Mr. Michael Oyedokun; Mrs. Oladeji; and Mary Akanbi of Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.
The gunmen were also said to have carted away four motorcycles belonging to villagers during the attack.
The reported killing of Oyedokun has further heightened anxiety among families of the remaining abductees, as residents continue to call on security agencies and the government to intensify rescue efforts before more lives are lost.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Oyo State had yet to officially confirm the reported killing, while efforts to secure the release of the remaining victims were said to be ongoing.
