Pastor Leke Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has dismissed speculation that he is seeking to succeed his father as head of the church.
Speaking during a recent programme, Leke said becoming the RCCG General Overseer was not an ambition he was pursuing, stressing that the position carries a huge spiritual responsibility.
“I am not aiming to become the General Overseer of RCCG. It’s a lot to carry, especially when you see it from the backend,” he said.

Leke explained that his view was shaped by seeing firsthand the demands placed on his father, including the spiritual responsibilities that come with overseeing the church and its large network of congregations.
His remarks address speculation linking him to the RCCG leadership succession because of his position as Pastor Adeboye’s son. However, his statement is a declaration of his own lack of ambition for the role, rather than an announcement about who will eventually succeed the current General Overseer.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye remains the General Overseer of RCCG, according to the church’s official website.
Leke’s comments therefore clarify his personal position while leaving the broader question of future leadership succession open.
