The 2027 presidential bid of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has received a fresh boost following the appearance of the Nigeria Democratic Congress logo on the Independent National Electoral Commission portal.
The development has excited supporters of the Obi-Kwankwaso “OK” ticket, who see the update as another indication that the NDC is firmly positioned to participate in the 2027 presidential election.
The logo appeared on the INEC platform after a court ruling affirming the party’s registration, bringing fresh political momentum to the opposition platform ahead of the election.

For supporters, the development has gone beyond the question of a party logo. It has become a rallying point for Nigerians seeking an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The growing support for the NDC ticket comes amid mounting public frustration over insecurity, rising taxes, economic hardship and what critics describe as unfulfilled promises by the APC administration.
Supporters have consequently intensified their mobilisation with slogans such as, “Our votes must count this time” and “Obi is coming,” signalling growing expectations ahead of the 2027 poll.
The opposition camp is also placing heavy emphasis on vote protection, with supporters insisting that electoral victory must be determined by ballots cast by Nigerians rather than manipulation of the electoral process.
The development comes as INEC continues to warn political parties and their supporters against violence and other actions capable of undermining the credibility of the 2027 elections.
Meanwhile, questions surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s fitness and capacity to continue leading the country have also featured increasingly in the political debate as the presidential contest gathers momentum.
With the NDC logo now visible on INEC’s platform, the Obi-Kwankwaso camp appears set to turn the latest development into another mobilisation tool as it seeks to convert growing public discontent into electoral support in 2027.
The emergence of the NDC as a recognised platform for the ticket adds another layer to what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested presidential race.
