The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced April 14, 2026, as the date for its National Convention and unveiled a schedule for nationwide congresses leading up to the event.
In a public notice jointly signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party outlined a phased timetable for its internal elections across the country.
According to the notice, Polling Unit and Ward Congresses will take place on April 7, 2026, where party members will elect grassroots officials. This will be followed by Local Government Area Congresses on April 9, while State Congresses are scheduled for April 11.
The series of congresses will culminate in the party’s National Convention on April 14, where national officers are expected to emerge and key decisions concerning the party’s structure and future direction will be taken.
The leadership of the African Democratic Congress urged party members across the country to participate actively in the congresses and adhere to the timetable to ensure a transparent and orderly process.
The convention is expected to bring together delegates and stakeholders from across Nigeria as the party prepares to strengthen its internal structures ahead of future political contests.
