The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has unveiled plans to provide special dietary care for pilgrims living with diabetes and other health conditions during the 2026 Hajj.
In a statement made available to National Update in Dutse, the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Habibu Yusuf Babura (ANIPR), said the initiative is part of broader measures to safeguard the health and wellbeing of Jigawa pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
The Board’s Director-General, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed the plan during a visit to the medical screening centre at Dutse General Hospital, stressing that the health and welfare of pilgrims remain a top priority from departure to their return to Jigawa State.
“The Director-General emphasised that a safe and healthy pilgrimage is of utmost importance to the Board. The welfare and health of pilgrims will continue to receive priority attention,” the statement added.
Special arrangements have been made to provide three meals daily to pilgrims, a practice described as unique to Jigawa State’s Hajj operations.
The Board also commended Governor Umar Namadi for his approval and continuous support in enhancing the welfare of pilgrims from the state.
