In a strong push to deepen President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on human capital development, Senator Babangida Hussaini of Jigawa North-West has launched the construction of a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to equip youths with cutting-edge digital skills.
The senator, in a personally signed statement made available to National Update in Dutse, said the project underscores his commitment to creating opportunities that prepare young people for the demands of an increasingly digital global economy.
According to him, the ICT hub is designed to bridge long-standing gaps in digital access and literacy by offering free or affordable training in technology, digital entrepreneurship, and online innovation.
“For years, many of our communities had to rely on distant towns to access stable internet or ICT services,” Senator Hussaini said. “This centre will change that reality by bringing digital training and connectivity closer to our people.”
When completed, the facility will function as a vibrant learning hub—providing computer literacy training, online skills acquisition, digital entrepreneurship classes, and resources for students, job seekers, and innovators across Jigawa North-West.
Senator Hussaini reaffirmed that the project is only one of several interventions he plans to roll out to ensure youths in the senatorial district gain competitive skills that position them for future opportunities.
“Insha Allah, this centre will become a major resource for our youths and the entire community,” he added, pledging sustained support for initiatives that improve education, innovation and economic participation.
The ICT Centre is expected to significantly ease the digital hardship faced by rural communities, boost connectivity and open new pathways for employment and self-reliance among young people in the region.
