Presidential aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who is also the Governor of Rivers State Barrister Nyesom Wike, has called on members of the party to unite with a formidable force to wrestle leadership of the country from ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Wike who made the call on Wednesday in Lokoja while in Kogi State to officially consult with delegates of the Party in the State ahead of the Presidential Primary for the 2023 Presidential race said the party has all it takes to win the 2023 presidential election.

He urged members of PDP to work together as an indivisible entity to achieve the feat for Nigerians saying that the country today needs a capable hand with enormous courage and political will to salvage it.

The Presidential aspirant said he threw his hat into the ring for the race to salvage the nation from its present precarious situation where insecurity, economic doldrum and high level of suffering has become the order of the day.

The lawyer turned politician however cautioned party delegates for the May 28th and 29th primaries of the party against voting for aspirants known for cross carpeting from one party to another on political adventures.

Wike said that many of them had turned their back on the PDP after benefitting so much from the party adding that he would not defect to another party even if he failed in his bid to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.

“I hate ingrates in my life. We have some people who are busy jumping from one party to another just because they want to win election.

“As for me, if you don’t vote for me in our party primary, I will still remain a member of the PDP. I have benefited from this party and so, I will have no excuse to give for defecting to another party.

“The party must be careful not to give ticket to people that will at the heat of election run away to another party. I am the one man who can face the the ruling party and win election no matter their antics”, he said.

Speaking earlier, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former Governor of Kogi State commended Gov. Wike for his patience, perseverance and effort that has unified the party.
