The Chairman of the Nigerian Universities Ranking Advisory Committee (NURAC), Professor Emeritus Peter Okebukola, has hailed the inclusion of the University of Ibadan (UI) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) among the world’s top 1000 universities in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Okebukola described the latest ranking as a “big leap forward” for Nigeria’s higher education system and a sign that sustained reforms are beginning to yield results.
