**Warns: “The Day I See You With Any Aspirant, You Are Fired”
By Umar Muhammed, Lafia
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has issued a stern warning to his political appointees: anyone caught pledging loyalty to governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections will be sacked immediately.

Speaking at a sensitization workshop for political aides in Lafia, the governor declared that his administration will not tolerate divided loyalty or premature politicking, stressing that appointees must remain focused on delivering governance.
“Your loyalty is here,” Sule told the gathering. “The day I see any of you with any of the aspirants, that day you are fired. If you prefer to follow them, resign and go. But as long as you are in government, your loyalty must not be divided.”
The governor dismissed claims of external influence in choosing his successor, insisting that no one has the power to dictate his political decisions. “If anybody thinks someone can tell me who to support, that person needs to go to a mental hospital,” he said bluntly.
While acknowledging his preference for certain aspirants, Sule said he has no hatred for anyone seeking the position. He assured that when the time comes, his choice of a successor will be guided by competence, capacity, and the ability to sustain investor confidence in the state.
He urged his appointees to prioritize teamwork and development, highlighting ongoing projects including the soon-to-be-commissioned lithium processing plant in Endo, which President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate.
Beyond politics, Sule cautioned against the misuse of social media, warning that platforms designed to inform and educate are increasingly being turned into tools for insults and abuse.
The event also featured addresses by APC state executives and senior government officials, all stressing loyalty, teamwork, and the need for aides to defend the government’s record.
