The Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Salihu Abere, has reminded Muslims of the fleeting nature of life, urging constant remembrance of Allah’s injunctions in preparation for the final day of accountability.

He gave the charge on Tuesday while leading the Janazah prayer for the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsanni Ododo, father of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, at Upogoro in Okene Local Government Area.

The solemn rites, conducted in strict accordance with Islamic tradition, drew a large crowd of mourners including respected clerics, traditional rulers, political leaders, and community members from across the country.

Governor Ododo, accompanied by his predecessor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, senior government officials, and dignitaries such as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tijani Muhammed Anaje, joined family and sympathisers in bidding the late patriarch a final farewell.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased, seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest in Aljanah Firdaus.

The late Alhaji Ododo, who died on Monday at 83, is remembered as a devout Muslim, a pillar of his community, and a man whose life of service and humility left a lasting legacy.
