David Mark To Inec: Show Nigeria You Can Deliver A Credible Election

***Rallies Support Ahead of Saturday’s Crucial Bye-Elections

National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prove that Nigeria can hold free, fair, and credible elections as the nation heads to the polls in 10 states this Saturday, August 16, 2025.
In a goodwill message to ADC candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly, the former Senate President declared that this weekend’s bye-elections are a test of INEC’s integrity.
“All eyes are on the Commission,” Mark said pointedly. “A truly transparent exercise this weekend can begin to redeem its image and restore public confidence in the ballot.”
The ADC is contesting seats in Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun States. Mark described the party as a “child of necessity,” born to give Nigerians a genuine alternative in governance, and urged voters to give the ADC a chance to prove its worth.
He praised the courage of ADC candidates, urging them to be law-abiding yet vigilant against any form of manipulation or intimidation. Mark also pressed security agencies to ensure a level playing field so that the will of the people is not subverted.
“This is more than an election,” he said. “It is a moment to show Nigerians—and the world—that our democracy can work.”
