A dramatic encounter at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport has led to a temporary no-fly order against Fuji legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as Kwam-1.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, ordered the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to ground the musician following a chaotic incident on Tuesday, where Kwam-1 was caught on camera obstructing an aircraft from taxiing.

In a post on his official X account, Keyamo confirmed he had received detailed reports and video evidence of what he described as a “near-fatal” breakdown in airport protocol involving Kwam-1 and the crew of ValueJet.

“This was a dangerous loss of control on both sides,” Keyamo stated. “But it is Kwam-1’s actions—repeatedly standing on the tarmac to block an aircraft—that cross the line. That’s not just misconduct; it’s a security risk.”

Contrary to claims by his team that he was holding only water, Keyamo said the beverage was irrelevant. “This isn’t about what was in his hand. It’s about turning a runway into a stage for drama.”

Keyamo also criticized the ValueJet crew, directing the NCAA to suspend the pilot and captain involved, stating that both parties violated international safety standards.

“No pilot should taxi with an unruly person still in front of the aircraft. It’s a basic breach of ICAO protocol,” he said.

In a clear message to the entire aviation sector, Keyamo warned that any airline that disregards the no-fly directive will risk immediate license withdrawal.

“This is not about celebrity or status. The rules are the same for everyone.”

    Investigations are still ongoing.
