The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recorded a breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on criminal activities, following a successful raid on a location along Udi Street that led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen items.
Police Public Relations Officer DSP Timfon John in a statement indicated that the operation, which took place around 1:15 AM, was carried out by operatives acting on actionable intelligence, in accordance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare.
According to the statement, the suspects, identified as Babangida Idris Usman and Awalu Abdullahi, are believed to be key receivers of stolen goods.
Items recovered from the location the statement indicated were 14 sewing machine heads and a generator.

At least two victims have already identified some of the recovered items as theirs, confirming their involvement in earlier theft cases.

The Police Command has launched a full investigation into the matter and is working to uncover additional leads and accomplices.

Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious activity and support ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
