The Managing Director of Jigawa Savings and Loans Nigeria Limited, Mr. Babandi Isah, is at the centre of a growing corruption scandal following a formal investigation and court charges filed by the Jigawa State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (JSPCACC).
Mr. Isah faces serious allegations ranging from abuse of office to the misappropriation of public funds. According to the Commission, he is accused of awarding contracts without due process, including an unexecuted deal for official vehicles.
The case also includes allegations of unauthorized sales and devaluation of properties belonging to the bank, notably in Shuwarin and along Maiduguri/Kiyawa Road.
Perhaps more troubling are claims that Mr. Isah partitioned and sold land at the 744 Housing Estate in Dutse without approval. The Commission also alleges diversion and failure to remit PAYE and withholding taxes meant for the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service.

“The Commission has formally charged the suspect to court in accordance with the law,” said Yusuf Suleiman, Director of Education and Public Relations at JSPCACC.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in public service.”
This development has sent shockwaves across Jigawa State, as residents demand swift justice and greater oversight of public financial institutions.
The case is expected to proceed in court in the coming weeks.
