‘You are Unfit to Judge Rivers Governor Fubara’ Timi Frank tells Akpabio

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank,
has launched a scathing attack on Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of hypocrisy and betrayal in his criticism of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Frank, in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, described Akpabio as “most unqualified” to judge Governor Fubara’s personality and character, following Akpabio’s remarks at a public lecture in Port Harcourt. At the event, Akpabio accused Fubara of “treachery and betrayal” against Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

“The man who spoke is a known betrayer, and the man he defended is equally a betrayer. Akpabio has betrayal in his DNA, alongside Wike,” Frank stated, labeling both men as opportunists who have turned against their past allies for personal gain.

Frank further accused Akpabio of turning the 10th Senate into a “rubber stamp” for the executive branch and failing to stand for his constituents. He contrasted this with Fubara’s leadership, asserting that the governor has prioritized the welfare of Rivers State citizens by resisting external pressures.

The outspoken politician also criticized Wike for betraying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 elections and accused him of undermining efforts to rebuild the party.

“Who is the betrayer? A governor fighting for his people or a Senate President who approves four concurrent budgets for the executive without accountability? Akpabio and Wike have no moral authority to question Governor Fubara’s integrity,” Frank added.

Frank, who is also the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, urged Governor Fubara to remain focused despite the attacks, citing his recent victory at the Appeal Court restoring Rivers State’s monthly allocations as evidence of his dedication and resolve.

“Governor Fubara should remain steadfast. The end will justify the means. Akpabio’s baseless accusations are a distraction from the real issues affecting Rivers State citizens,” Frank concluded.

This bold rebuke from Frank is likely to escalate the growing tension between the political figures as the debate over governance and loyalty in the South-South region continues.
