NG-CARES have given 26, 000 farmers three bags of fertilizer, improved seeds, herbicides and insecticides each for free through FADAMA office in Jigawa state.

This was disclosed by the Jigawa state FADAMA CARES Coordinator, Malam Aliyu Inuwa while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the distribution of the commodities in Dutse.
He said the intervention is aimed at supplementing the federal government in achieving food security.

The FADAMA coordinator explained that the FADAMA CARE made an early provision of fertilizers because it is a critical factor in ensuring a successful farming season.

“We understand the importance of timely agricultural inputs in boosting productivity. this is part of the Jigawa State commitment to ensure it leads in agricultural production, and this is one of the steps towards achieving that,” Aliyu stated.

According to Malam Inuwa “the aim is to boost food production to achieve food security and improve livelihood of citizens especially rural communities in the country”.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to National Update have commended Governor Umar Namadi on timely distribution of Agricultural inputs to boost food production.

According to them “for years farmers in the state have often faced delays in receiving essential input, which has historically led to reduced yields and economic hardships”

“However, this administration has prioritised the timely distribution of agricultural inputs, addressing a long-standing challenge”

Speaking to National Update one Malam Ibrahim Usman said “This year, we received our fertilizers at the time when the plants needed it most unlike before ”

“This timely intervention means we can now maximize our crop yields, and we’re hopeful for a bountiful harvest,” he said.
