The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade on his enthronement as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo.
In her congratulatory message, Musawa emphasized the historical and cultural importance of the coronation, describing it as a significant milestone in the Oyo Empire’s storied tradition of leadership and cultural heritage.
Special Adviser on media and pubicity, Dr Nneka Ikem Anibeze in a statement indicated that the coronation and staff of office represent the zenith of traditional leadership in Yorubaland, as she quoted Musawa to have expressed her deep honor in witnessing such a momentous occasion.
“I extend my warmest felicitations to His Majesty, the newly crowned Alaafin of Oyo, on his ascension to this revered throne,” the Minister stated. “This remarkable moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in the illustrious history of the Oyo Empire. I am proud to acknowledge the Alaafin’s role as a custodian of Yoruba traditions, values, and culture.”
Musawa reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting His Majesty and the people of Oyo State in their efforts to preserve Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity.
“We at the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy stand ready to collaborate with the Alaafin and the good people of Oyo State to not only preserve our historical legacy but to also foster unity through the promotion of Nigeria’s vast cultural wealth.”
In her message, the Minister prayed for the new Alaafin’s wisdom, good health, and divine guidance, wishing him a long and prosperous reign. She also expressed eagerness to work alongside the Alaafin to advance Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries.
“May your reign bring prosperity, peace, and progress to the Oyo Kingdom and the entire Yoruba people,” Musawa concluded, extending her congratulations once again to His Majesty.
