Defense minister Donates N20 Million to Jigawa Flood Victims
The Minister of Defense and immediate past Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has donated N20 million to victims of the recent flood disaster in Jigawa State.
During a sympathy visit to the state, Abubakar condoled with the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in the disaster.
He also paid a courtesy visit to the current Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, at the Government House in Dutse.
Abubakar expressed his sorrow over the calamity, which has claimed 33 lives, displaced over 7,500 families, and destroyed hundreds of hectares of farmland.
He commended Governor Namadi for his rapid response to the disaster.
The minister’s donation is to support the affected communities and alleviate their suffering.
The Jigawa State government has also been working to provide relief and assistance to the victims of the flood.
