Barr Sly Ezeokenwa remains our duly elected National chairman, APGA Northern leaders tell INEC
***Says Njoku was not a product of any National Convention witnessed by INEC
Apparently piqued by the recent recognition accorded the Chief Edozie Njoku-led National Executive Committee of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) against Barr Sly Ezeokenwa as duly elected National chairman by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) the Party’s leaders of Northern Extraction have called on the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof. Mahamood Yakubu to immediately withdraw the unconstitutional action.
The leaders that included APGA Board of Trustees (BOT), National Working Committee (NWC) members alongside the Party’s Chairmen in the 19 Northern States including FCT, urged the electoral umpire to know that their actions are being challenged in the Apex Court of the land and that Nigerians are watching them keenly.
A statement issued by the National Vice Chairman, North Central Zone, Alhaji Arikora Musa Abdulazeez on behalf of northern caucus indicated that the said Edozie Njoku was never a product of any National Convention of APGA and INEC never monitored any National Convention of APGA were Edozie Njo was ever elected as APGA National Chairman.
“We stand firmly behind our duly elected National Chairman Barr Sly Ezeokenwa and members of his NWC elected on 31st May,2023 at the international conference center, Awka, Anambra State for a term of 4 years.
“We are aware that there is no Judgment of any Court in Nigeria that declared Edozie Njoku as APGA National Chairman.
“The issue of who was the authentic National Chairman of APGA between Chief Victor Ike Oye the former National Chairman of APGA and Edozie Njoku was settled by several judgments of the Court of Appeal in favor of chief Victor Oye.
“We the concerned APGA members from the Northern extraction of the Country completely reject the recognition of Edozie Njoku as National Chairman of APGA.
“The National leadership of the Party under Bar Sly Ezeokenwa remains the authentic National leadership of APGA.
“We shall continue to resist this unconstitutional, illegal and unpopular decision taken by INEC on the National leadership of APGA until the commission withdraws it’s decision and revert the party to it’s rightful leadership of Barr Sly Ezeokenwa”
