Jigawa Deputy gov wins APC governorship ticket for the State

The Jigawa state deputy governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi has been declared winner of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election to fly the party’s flag in the 2023 general election.
Namadi polled 1,220 votes to defeat eight others who contested the position with him at the party’s (APC) primary election held at Malam Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse.
Announcing the results, the electoral officer, Dr Kabir Usman declared that Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu scored 106 votes, Senator Ibrahim Hassan 58 votes, Arc. Aminu Kano 16votes, Faruku Adamu 13votes and Mal Sani Husaini Garungabas scored 5 votes.
According to him, Former deputy governor and a commissioner in the federal revenue and mobilization committee, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmud Gumel, Special Adviser to the president on infrastructure, Mr Ahmed Rufa’i Zakaria and Alhaji Abba Muktari the son of late AVM Muktari Muhammed all scored zero.
Speaking shortly after he was decleared winner, the deputy governor and APC candidate extended the olive branch to his co contestants to support him and ensure the party wins in the secondary elections.
The APC governorship candidate was the commissioner of finance from 2015 to 2019 from where he was picked as deputy governor by governor Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar in 2019 till date.
Alhaji Namadi is the founder of Namadi, Umar & Co Chartered Accountants firm based in Kano, he was from 1993 an Associate member of the Nigeria Institute of Management, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation until 2010 when he became a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Ahaji Namadi was also engaged in research works, on Sources and Application of Funds, Auditing and Computerized Information System and Community Banking.
