Jigawa Assembly Passes Anti Corruption Bill to fast track justice delivery

Th Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill on anti corruption and public complain which emanated from the executive to quicken justice delivery for justice and peaceful coexistence

Speaking to newsmen shortly after passing the bill the chairman house committee on Justice and Judiciary honourable Abubakar Sadeeq Jallo said, the bill was earlier presented in the house by the majority leader and refered to his committee.

The committee chairman who is member representing Hadejia local government in the state house of Assembly said he has consulted with all stakeholders and visited some states to ensure the law contained all that needed

He noted that when signed in to law, it will pave way for the establishment of Anti- Corruption and Public Complain Commission in the state.

He explained that, the passage of the bill is timely as the recent verdict by supreme court declared that, all corruption cases emanating from the state shall be handled in the state.

Hon Jallo added that, the bill will also contribute in promoting public transparency and accountability as advocated by Governor Badaru Abubakar which is also inline with president Muhammad Buhari mantra on “We must kill corruption or corruption will kill us”.

The chairman declared that, when the commission come on board it will help in mediating and settling financial and other business disagreement among Jigawa state people.

“The expected Anti- corruption and public complain commission will also save resource, promote peace and unity by resolving cases through mediation and avoiding unnecessary litigation which consume time and resources “.
Meanwhile, the Social Protection bill which seeks to provide more protection and enhance the life of people with Disability and other vulnerable groups in the society has passed first reading at the house floor during the sitting.
